사단법인 대한합기도총협회가 주최한 '2025 한민족 통일기원 전국 전통무예한마당'이 지난 11월 2일, 서울 영등포 다목적 배드민턴 체육관에서 성황리에 막을 내렸다. 

올해로 10년째 명맥을 이어오고 있는 이 대회는 한국 전통무예의 저변 확대와 청소년 심신 단련에 기여하며 무예인들의 축제로 자리매김했다.

이날 개회식에는 서울시 영등포구 최호권 구청장, 무예신문사 최종표 회장, 선문대학교 최종균 교수, 김포대학교 김영현 교수, K타이거즈 안학선 단장 등 주요 내외빈이 참석해 대회의 위상을 높였다.

전통무예 9개 종목 경합... 1200여 명 참가

이번 대회는 낙법, 스피드발차기, 호신술, 격파, 맨손형(품새), 무기형, 줄넘기, 종합단체연무 등 총 9가지 종목에서 치열한 경합을 벌였다. 무도 통합단체 소속 수련생이라면 누구나 참가할 수 있었으며, 선수 634명을 포함해 임원, 관중 등 총 1,200여 명이 참여하여 무도 축제다운 뜨거운 열기를 보여주었다.

대회의 최고 영예인 국회의장상은 종합단체연무 1위 팀인 흑추관 정무도장(한길용 외 10명)이 수상하는 기쁨을 누렸다.

10명 이상 참가 도장을 대상으로 한 종합시상 부문에서는 경기도 메가스익스트림(박지왕 외 62명)이 종합우승을 차지하며 문화체육관광부 장관상을 수상했다. 

준우승은 양우관 청룡도장(윤귀동 관장), 3위는 황룡체육관(황다온 관장)이 차지했다.개인 기량을 겨루는 낙법 부문 왕중왕전에서는 △초등부 김민성(정왕초/메가스태권도장) △중등부 김시현(진주중앙중/진주TSA합기도) △고·대일반부 최홍민(동성고/용인대화랑도장) 선수가 각 부문 우승자로 등극했다.

"청소년들의 꿈의 무대, 내년에도 노력할 것"

대회를 성공적으로 총괄한 황용의 대한합기도총협회 회장은 "쉽지 않은 시기에도 불구하고 대회를 무사히 마칠 수 있어 기쁘다"며 "한국 전통무예인 '무도'를 주제로 한 이번 대회가 미래 주역인 청소년들의 심신 단련에 도움이 되었기를 바란다. 많은 선수가 이번 대회를 간절히 기다려온 만큼, 내년에도 청소년들을 위한 꿈의 무대를 만들 수 있도록 협회에서 노력 하겠다"고 소감을 밝혔다.

The "2025 National Traditional Martial Arts Festival for the Unification of the Korean People," hosted by the Korea Hapkido Association, successfully concluded on November 2nd at the Yeongdeungpo Multipurpose Badminton Gymnasium in Seoul.

Now in its 10th year, the competition has contributed to expanding the base of traditional Korean martial arts and fostering mental and physical training for young people, establishing itself as a festival for martial artists.

The opening ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Yeongdeungpo District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon, Martial Arts Newspaper Chairman Choi Jong-pyo, Professor Choi Jong-gyun of Sunmoon University, Professor Kim Young-hyun of Gimpo University, and K-Tigers General Manager Ahn Hak-seon, enhancing the prestige of the event.

Nine traditional martial arts disciplines competed... Over 1,200 participants

This competition featured fierce competition across nine disciplines: falling, speed kicking, self-defense, breaking, bare-handed (forms), weapon-based martial arts, rope jumping, and comprehensive group performances. Any practitioner affiliated with a martial arts organization was eligible to participate. A total of 1,200 participants, including 634 athletes, officials, and spectators, demonstrated the excitement of a martial arts festival.

The National Assembly Speaker's Award, the highest honor of the competition, went to the Heukchugwan Jeongmu Dojang (Han Gil-yong and 10 members), the first-place team in the comprehensive group performance.

In the overall awards category for dojangs with 10 or more participants, Gyeonggi-do Megas Extreme (Park Ji-wang and 62 members) won the overall championship and received the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award.

The runner-up was Yangwoogwan Cheongryong Dojang (Director Yoon Gwi-dong), and the third place went to Hwangryong Gymnasium (Director Hwang Da-on). In the individual falling competition, the elementary school division winners were Kim Min-seong (Jeongwang Elementary School/Mega Taekwondo Dojang), the middle school winner was Kim Si-hyeon (Jinju Central Middle School/Jinju TSA Hapkido), and the high school and university winner was Choi Hong-min (Dongseong High School/Yongin Daehwarang Dojang). "We will continue to strive to create a dream stage for young people next year."

Hwang Yong-ui, President of the Korea Hapkido Federation, who successfully oversaw the competition, said, "Despite the challenging times, I am delighted that we were able to successfully complete the competition. I hope that this competition, themed around the traditional Korean martial art of 'Mudo,' helped train the minds and bodies of the young people who will lead the future. As many athletes have eagerly anticipated this competition, the Federation will continue its efforts to create a dream stage for young people next year."
